| IROK or TSL SX Super Swampers?
Hi folks. I found a weak spot in the Trepidors. On very loose surfaces I was left at the bottom of the hills whilst the Ripsaws did a lot better! I think it's the flatter tread pattern that caused the. Just not enough bite. The IROK or TSL SX Super Swampers look good. But which are better? |

I like both although I've only run the 2.2 TSL's. The 1.9 iroks perform great though on my Jeep. The 1.9 TSL's are closer in size to the Ripsaws while the iroks are much bigger.

I have the IROKS on my Jeep and the Trepadors on my Honcho. I can't see any difference in grip on the rocks. The Treps are a little taller. I would have probably gone with the Treps on the Jeep also except for the fact that I have RC4WD Dick Cepek wheels on the Jeep and they don't fit the axial tires well due to the inner circumference of the Axial tires. Just thought I pass that info along in case your looking at a wheel purchase.

I would recommend TSLs. I noticed X2SS compound in RC4WD Iroks is very sticky till you take it outside. Once it gets some dust all advantages are gone. It is like dough, stick to hands until you add some flour. |

Thanks folks....looks like the TSLs have the edge. The Treps have been awesome in every other condition I have ran in but that session....as I say it was like I was running slicks.

Yup, make sure to get the new larger "xl" size TSL and you'll be happy. I just switched from cut n shut 2.2 TSL's to 1.9 IROKS and back to the 1.9 TSL once the new ones came out. |

I've run the TSL 1.9 Swampers the first gen small ones and they worked well, I switched to the 1.9 IROC because I wanted more ground clearance worked as good as the TSL Swampers, now I run 1.9 Pit Bulls taller then the TSL's but just a bit shorter then the IROC's but work a lot better then both all around but I have yet to see or try the new 1.9 TSL Swamper that is taller I think they would be as good as if not better then the Iroc's...

Anyone have them mounted on a RC4WD wheel like maybe Dick Cepek's?

Hey my man, I like my Treps too and found the same problem as you. If you want to keep them take a Dremel and cut-off wheel and open up all the lugs. One pass through the factory cuts and it changes the tire's personality. |

depends on ur ride height, XL's if u have enough clearance to keep from rubbing SX's cuz there a bit smaller but same tire if u don't have the room for flexing. I use the SX's and there are awesome prolly never run another type tire for me. I have the extra room I might get me a set of XL's some day just because there just a bit taller,
