Default Why is this happening?

OK, RC4WD wheels and tires. No loose screws, tires are seated correctly but this keeps happening. I've taken it apart at least four times now and re-assembled. I think the tire is moving on the wheel (pretty obvious) but why? I don't want to glue them. Your ideas please.

yup, they are not quite air tight so they let air out when under extreem load... but then the air can't come back in.

Personally, I like my tires vented but some do not.
I use a soldering iron to melt a few small holes in between the tread.

Do you vent your wheels also?

Can you squeeze the tires and hear the air come out ? If not there a blockage and may need to drill foams, weights if you have any.

Yes I can. When the rigs weight is on the tires, they look a little flat. I'm not running any wheel weights so there isn't any obstruction to the vents. But, you may have hit on something eric113. These are internal bead lock wheels. I did vent the wheel and the internal ring but the holes aren't exactly lined up and maybe the foam is causing an obstruction. Maybe I need more venting. I have two holes in each the wheel and the ring 1/8 inch.

The holes on the wheels and ring do need to line up. Try lining them best you can. 2 1/8" holes is plenty. You may try venting the tires. I do Johnny does, I used soldering iron and burn a hole or you can use a leather hole puncher.

In other words: this occurring on both the outer/inner sidewall ?

OK guys thanks for the input. I'm going to try one more set of holes. I will drill through the ring and into the wheel in one motion so I'll be sure those holes will line up upon re-assembly. I'll let you know the outcome, thanks again.

did you ever 180 the tire on the wheel...
see if the same thing occurs on the inside surface ?

looks to me like the outer bead is slipping.
while the inner bead is staying put.

what motor ? 2s or 3s ?

do both sides of this tire feel/look of equal thickness ?
consistent with the others ?

What happens if your rotate that tire/wheel to a different axle/hub ?

Looks like either the inside or outside of the tire bead is rotating more than the other side. Had this happen on the steelies. Try scuffing lightly the rings/wheel in a perpendicular direction of the tire rotation, seemed to help my set.

#1 No I did not.
#2 Novak 35T 2's
#3 Tire looks and feels the same to me. Tires were purchased and mounted at the same time.
#4 I did this, only does it when it's on the rear of the truck. BUT, as you know, you don't always run the same line, exactly. This is happening in my backyard going through the same course. But, not always the exact same line.

Thanks Taco, you've given me more to consider.

Thanks, Meatwad, I'll give that a try. This is the only set of aluminum wheels this is happening on. Also, this is my only set of internal bead lock wheels. The others are fine using the same type of tire, just not the same tire set. Did that make sense?

the same happened to a friend last weekend but on axial beadlocks and ripsaws. I think is because he cutted to much of the foams (the tires look flat)
