Default rc4wd rampage bumper... casualty of war

Result of my morning crawling session with a few other guys, I'm gonna need to put the cross braces back in. Any tips for fixing this? Just bend the frame rails back or get new ones? The frame rails are bent to the right a good half inch at least.. hope you can tell from the pics

my mate done that to the back f fhis scx10 i just took the bumper off and got a pair of needle nose pliers and bent them back good as new again but be careful you dont bend them too far. and they may look thin but there a hard bugger to bend back again so will need some force not alot though

you need a cross member up front...
behind the front bumper.

that will strengthen that area...
and would be less likely to bend the frame rails.

Yeah I plan to either put the stock back on or put the Vanquish CMS on.. but the bend occurred further back than where the front bumper brace goes so I think it still would have bent a little...

Looks like it bent where the rails are clearanced for the servo mounts, unusual that it would bend that much though! The brace should keep the rails square, I would just bend it back.

Well... you need to look at the frame as being like a box.

If you cut off one of the four sides of a box...
it will deflect a bunch more when force is applied.
If all four sides are left intact... it will remain more integral...
And handle the forces applied better.

Leverage is what found the weak point in your frame.
Had you had a crossmember nearer the front of your frame
that bend would not likely have occurred at all.

Your bumper's mounting design was not sufficient to suffice as a frame crossmember.

I'd even go so far as surmising...
that the slotted brackets holding your bumper to the frame rails
shifted on the mounting screws/bolts.

Thus allowing movement and not keeping the frame's boxed configuration integral.

Good luck straightening those rails out...
Think if it were me...
I'd just purchase new rails.
I don't think they are outrageously priced.

The rails themselves are $40, the chassis set is $66... Maybe i could find some used but wouldn't pay over $20 for just the rail set.

I thought the bumper would be good enough to brace it but i was wrong, no big deal lol. I bent them back already along with the bumper, and have them mounted up with the stock front bumper mount. I'll try a trail ride first before forking out money for other rails, as they are easy to bend back.

Yeah even with a brace the bumper continues to shift... wonder how to fix this?

your not using the frame horn mounted cross member ?

The way your bumper mounts...
you need to box the end of the frame horns as well.

got some better detail pics on how that bumper is mounted ?
