Default What new motor to get?

Hey gang. was wheeling around lasting in the yard and noticed my motor starting to smell a little funny. its a stock axial 27t but I wanted to get something ordered before it completely dies. I was looking at 550's and 540's and such but the options are a little over whelming. I thought to 27t suited my driving style well. I'm still a noob when it comes to driving so that being said not wuite ready to drop the cash on a nice HH motor. any advice on a good motor replacement would be awesome. I would like to stay on the cheaper side till I get a little better at driving. I don't mind if its a through away or rebuildable unit. I need to stay over 20t as well because of the stock esc. I was kinda leaning toward a 550 can size because of the higher torque but I am up for all ideas and opinions. Thanks in advance

What are you doing with the truck? More trailing or more crawling?

You need to lower the gear ration so you don't burn up your new motor. A 16t pinion would work better than stock and keep the motor cooler.

You can get a Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster Sport for not too bad of a price. Other low cost option would be the HH Trail Master sport.
