shortened axles and housings?

Ive seen where some widen the tracks but was wondering if shortening them was possible also?...I have a 1/16 scale body (newbright Ford svt raptor/Bass pro shops) that id like to use by
shortening an scx10 chassis and axles..Has anyone done this before?

Yea..no doubt ill have to make shorter custom links for a smaller wheel base..Was wondering about the axles themselves and how to narrow them.

Thanks Ninja..i checked it out..should give me an idea on what ill need to do..Want to basicly take a scx10 and shorten its wheel base and narrow the axles and housings to fit correctly under the truck....should be a fun project..thanks again.
