Savox 1230 ..around 75 $$ 500oz a little overkill but cheap and strong. you will also need a bec for any stonger servo ..castle creations 10a bec is what I use ..

I use the savox 1283sg, works great for me. It runs off a CC BEC also.

I find anything with around 300 oz of torque is real nice for scx based rigs. Sure you can get away with less but the amount of strain and the weight of your rig not to mention the kind of driving you do will really make or break a servo. That being said I loveddddd savox servos in my racers but hate them in my trail rigs and crawlers. They are extrmemely fast servos but their endurance doesnt cut it on the rocks and trails. If you want great quality and strength go with hitec. Maybe a 5955 or 7955. Both are found frequently on the classified section for very fair pricing, if not, just ask. Im sure someone has one laying around. Also invest 20 bucks into a bec, it will really improve your servo and driving experience.

Thanks,
Ork

any servo over 200 oz of torque will likely require a BEC ($ 20.)
otherwise power starvation/glitching could occur.

If money is of consideration... check out the inexpensive Solar 772 servo

^ not water proofed tho'

If you don't want to spend a fortune on a servo but want one stronger than the stock one that uses bearings instead of bushings then look at the Hitec HS645MG.
You will have more torque (133oz/in@6v) and longer life from it and you wont need a BEC to use it..You really have to consider what your intended use is for the truck.

The stock servo is over 100 oz in of torque which is impressive for what they cost..only draw back is they use cheap plastic bushings instead of bearings.

If you plan to make your truck a heavy beast with huge wheels/tires then get an expensive super high torque servo..If you plan to do a couple upgrades and run 1.9 wheels/tires then you don't need an expensive servo..My rubicon still runs the stock servo and and ive never been in a situation where ive thought to my self.."man I need a high torque/high dollar servo".

In my opinion a 35 dollar hitec 645mg is a wonderful servo as a replacement for stock one.

Make sure you change over to aluminum steering links..should be about the first upgrade on any scx10

I just got an already waterproofed Savox servo and so far it's been awesome and has held up in a bind situation, with 3.5oz weights in each front wheel..

Ive owned at least 10 hitec ti geared servos over the years, still owm most of them. Ive only ever broke one in 8+ years of rc crawling. I see absolutely no reason to try any other brand since ive had such good service from hitec. They are the most proven brand of servo on RCC. For a 1.9 scaler i use 7955s with CCBEC.
