Default RC4WD CMS and panhard kit

Hey all, I just finished building my JK kit and can't decide between the RC4WD CMS or the Vanquish CMS. I like how the RC4 has the panhard, but I like how the vanquish one mounts all the way in the front between the frame. The RC4WD kit appears to be a redone Hand Brothers CMS, which from what I have seen everyone on here really liked that kit. Has anyone used either one? Which one do you prefer? Any input is appreciated. I plan on using a Savox 0231 servo, if that matters.

The Vanqish CMS is a nice piece but they don't make a panhard bar that works with the stock axle without some custom work. Their SCX panhard bar is intended for use with currie axles only.

My CMS is homebrew but any requires a panhard and proper link geometry (read: not triangulated)
I have a 3 link on mine, works great with no bump steer, but I need a stronger servo to turn my 2.2s under an 11lb rig

Haven't tried the VP cms on the scx10 but got the RC4wd cms and really like the materials used and design. Atleast you have two good kits picked out and not some level3 thing.

I think Vanquish just recently released the panhard mount for stock axles. Prior to that it was just for the curries.

I made my own. Someday, I'll be able to post pics... Someday. Can't wait to show off my rigs.

I'd like to see the installed kit in a rig.. I got one and am not sure on how the links get hooked back up. It was three linked... Do I change to four link front? The bracket for the panhard on the axle has a loop hole going side to side rather than up down..I'm talking of the mounting hole for the links on the bracket.. I'll get a picture of tomorrow and post..

This statement is both true and false.. VP also makes a SCX Ti link kit that comes with a hand drops style servo mount and a panhatd and 3 link bracket for the stock AX axles. Unfortunately it currently only comes with the purchase of the link kit.

Are the VP and RC4WD the only current CMS choices? I have a short wheel base scx with a hilux shell and am looking to put together a defender using an scx chassis and am going to chassis mount the servo one way or another. Both the CMS kits say they're for the longer wheelbase kits, can you just discard the top link and make a shorter one or is the servo positioned oddly on the rails for a shorter (275-280mm wb for d90?) rig?

how much more performance do you get out of your rig with your chassis mounted servo with a pan hard kit? ive been thinking of doing but im not sure if there is a ton of performance output compared to it being mounted on the axle..... or is it just for looks?

Well a cms won't turn your 200oz servo into a 400oz servo. But if you have your cms setup correctly, you won't have any performance loss at all.

I did a homebrew cms and it works great.

It's mostly for scale looks, the 4-link AMS setup will provide better flex and zero bump steer. If you're building scale, having a servo on top of the axle housing just looks wrong.
