The stock motor doesn't have to go right away..If you want to spend less you can find used link kits for half the cost...ill help you find all youll need to get started in the right direction if you want.

"Steering upgrade kit"? You are not talking about a chassis mounted servo are you? That is to get a more scale look on the truck, it is actually a downgrade in steering performance. I got the rtr rubicon kit for 299! Spent the rest on upgrades like bec, steel gears , castle link, high steer knuckles and chubs to get to 400..got 50 off and free shipping :-) glad i didn't miss the sale, adding it up here in canada and id be well over 600
