Default G6

Well I am new here and had a question for you guys. Has anyone had a problem with your scx10 kit axles not turning smoothly? The reason im asking is my new g6 came in the other day. I put it together following the directions to a "T" and the axles sound like crap. I tried taking apart cleaning everything, re- greasing, and reassembling and no luck. Any ideas to what may be causing this.

side note: Ive already called axial and they are sending me just the plastic axle housings

Maybe try re-seating the bearings and/or try to remove the possible burr from the bearing seats. Things are not perfect sometimes. Good on axial to send out some new plastic.

Maybe, last kit I built the ring and pinion wouldn't sit right, the pinion wouldn't go in all the way with out a oober ton of pursue. It wouldn't stick out of the housing far enough to get the drive shaft to bolt up to the pinion shaft...if that makes sense

I buffed my gears with a wire wheel brush for my demal tool. Makes them smooth and cleans off any casting flaws. But for sure check the bearing seating.

Okay. removed bearings, looked and cleaned up any imperfections, and reseated bearings and still no good. I will have to go pick a wire wheel to see if that will help.

Thanks guys i really appreciate the help..

I don't have a G6 but I did build a Rubicon kit and had a similar problem when it seemed like I overtightened the screws holding the two axle housing halves together.

Thanks for your input. It grinds with just the chubs slid on with no screws.
