| New Jeep SCX10 rtr problems?
Hey everyone...I just bought a new Jeep rubicon from tower a few weeks back and noticed something strange. When I put the truck up on the stand and accelerate...the truck acts normal (no vibration or shaking). However, when it's turned while under throttle the front starts wobbling like crazy. I sent the truck back in to axial and they just turned down the dual rate and called it fixed. Did nothing else. It came back with about 50% steering in both ways from what I had. Makes it frustrating to drive. My question is...is this normal for the scx10? If not is there a way to adjust the axles to fix the issue? I'm brand new to these so I'm stumped. Thanks

It could be the dog bones that are causing the wobbling you are seeing, it's hard to say without seeing it though. If turning down the steering reduced what you are seeing then thats what makes me think it is just that standard dog bone wobble.

+1 on that. check the front wheels and see if you can feel if anything is binding with the wheels turned.

I'll definitely recheck a little closer to see if I can see anything touching. I know these are meant for slow driving and it probably won't cause any serious issues..but I just had to check with the guys that own them. Like I said ...turning down the dual rate about 50% seems to solve it.. you just lose maneuverability. I was just hoping that there was a way to lessen the shake. Does this happen with anyone else's rtrs? ( on a stand)

Also you might want to check all the grub screws on your drive shafts, make sure that they are all going the same direction front to back, I noticed with mine if the screws are installed different directions it threw off the balance and the truck would wobble.

I have a brand new SCX10 RTR Jeep and it seems to stutter when the go pedal is pushed. It will go and then stutter and then go...etc... I am new to RC vehicles in general and maybe this is another issue that can be fixed with the transmitter to receiver. It doesn't always happen, just sometimes. It's as if something is cutting out. Thanks for any help. -Patrick |
