Default SCX10 based Jeep scaler - Old Blue

I picked this rig up in a trade and I'm digging it. The trans is up front and it has a RC4WD Killer Transfer case.

The original builder did tube fenders, shock hoops, rear quarters, and rock sliders/boat sides.

When I got it some screws were loose so I went through it and checked everything.

The electronics were waterproofed so it too forever to remove all the rubber coating on everything. I then redid all the plugs and tried to keep the wiring clean as best I could. You are hard pressed for room under the body.

I removed the LEDs so I can focus on the other stuff. Can always add them back later.

Unfortunately I broke the winch controller so that will need to be replaced.

After 5 hours I was finally able to put the body back on and test it. My crawling consisted of some Plano boxes and my legs. It's a fun rig. Can't wait to get it outside to see what she can do.

List per previous owner

Axial Axles, Chassis, Shocks, Driveshafts, Tranny relocated to front
RC4WD killer transfer case, rc4wd trucker metal shaft from tranny to transfer
Metal front tube fenders and rear quarter panels front/rear bumper, rock sliders, shock hoops.
Swampers with axial beadlocks. Mthead rings with cut foams. All wheels have about 3.5oz of lead weights
AE-2 esc
RC4WD 35t motor
Hi-tec 645 servo
Chassis, bumpers and sliders are powder coated black.
Working 3racing winch

Started out simple. Remove electronics and get rid of waterproofing.

Then that turned into lots of soldering and replacing plugs.

Success!! It crawls again! I'm running a small 2S lipo under the left boat side held on with Velcro.

I plan to add a spare tire as well as half a driver and some more accessories.

Been busy on my Defender, but wanted to update this. I swapped over to some RC4WD Wagon wheels with Mickey Thompson MTZ tires. Looks much better now. Still need to replace winch and add driver and some accessories.
