Default MIP driveshaft questions

I am thinking of putting on some MIP driveshafts onto my G6 kit with a 12.0" wheelbase. I know that the part #13360 will work and has the one longer output so you can still use the spur cover. I plan on mirroring the trans so not using the cover will be no big deal

My question is will the part #08101 work as well? http://miponline.com/store/mip08101.html

My LHS has them (08101) in stock and at good price. He tells my they will work, just wanting to ask here as well. I have the traxxas thru pin #5145 already in parts box and will use those instead of the two clamping grub screws. Thanks

If you aren't worried about running the gear cover then yeah those should work. I have that same set on both of my SCX10's. It's really close to the spur though, I moved mine out a bit on the output.

If you have clearance problems with the spur or decide that you want to run the spur cover, you can buy the longer drive hub. It is MIP #11117.

Or dremel the spur cover.

Yea I ended up cutting my spur gear cover out just so it fit it perfectly. Worked great, but with at 87t spur gear it puts that shaft right on it. So angled the end of the shaft a bit with a sander and it was perfect. Easy fix and works slick. If your running a 80t spur you will be good.
