Has anybody ever used anything but a cut down xr10 universal for the narrowed axle mod?

| ![]() it would have to be something for the wraith or xr10 if you're using those knuckles chubs you're going to be limited to xr10 shafts or long side wraith shafts, universals or stock style would work

You can use SCX10 dog bones and Wraith dogbone stub shafts in the narrow XR mod and it will work. but kinda the whole point is to get the extra steering and strength of Universals |

Ya vp stage one with xvd 2s or vvds works pretty nice for 45*+ steering angle, although watch wheel offset and offset of hex hubs because if too narrow the knuckle arms rub the tire. I personally like the width with +13mm junfac hexes. ![]() ![]() Sent from the clouds | |

Isn't that route considerably more expensive than the xr mod tho?

130-160 for all aluminum knucks. And c hubs, and depending on universals you choose, if you buy new stage 1 kit and and make your own links. Or 190 if you are unable to make your own steering parts Or 110-140 to do the xr mod with plastic knuckles and c hubs, making your own links, rc bros splined burly tubes, and xr10 universals. Also depending on how worried you are with no slop locker. Or 170 if you cant make your own steering links. Not that it cant be done cheaper without the burly tubes or no slop locker but for the price i like the stage one setup, if you NEED 50-65+ degrees steering the xr10 is the better choice but it depends on what you want i suppose.
