what does "suitable" imply ? my Honcho's 12.3" WB consists of... 2 frt/lower link rods @ 98mm (eye to eye 118mm) 2 Rr/lower link rods @ 106mm (eye to eye 126mm) I use traxxas 10mm X 3mm ID threaded link ends (shank end to eye center) How does yours offer an equivalent 12" or 12.3" wheel base ? Which link rod ends are being utilized ? 15mm or 10mm length ? Mfgr ? when I do the math... I'm not seeing 12" and 12.3" wheel bases ? Maybe I'm missing something and you'll set me right !? |

Suitable means they fit with the correct wheelbase. We use our own rod ends. Your measurement don't sound right. Our links are the same length as Axial links. They have been tested on the truck.

If your numbers are correct you're using rod ends that are 15mm to the center of the pivot ball and not 16.4mm OAL like the Axial. Your OAL on the rod end is probably right around 20-22mm. Looks like the discrepancy is in the length of the rod ends and not the link measurements. Also looks like we'll have to use SSD rod ends with the SSD links to keep the correct wheelbase. Why is this even an argument. I doubt SSD would put something out that isn't correct.

B) Anyone can make mistakes, whether it's in the product or just the published specs. So it's not a bad idea to ask a few question if something seems off. Now it's clear SSD links require SSD or 20(ish)mm long rod ends when it's time to replace them if you want to keep your wheelbase the same. It's also clear you can't mix and match SSD and Axial 6mm diameter links and rod ends.

Why create and user non-industry standard rod ends? Traxxas Revo rod ends are the current defacto standard, quite strong and available everywhere for cheap.

Industry standard? There are no industry standard rod ends. Everybody has different length rod ends and different ball widths.... Just because another company uses them doesn't mean we have to. Traxxas rod ends are M4 and the ball is not the right width. SSD links are the right lengths eye to eye and that's what matters. Our rod ends dont break easily and spares are available. |
