Default SMF truggy cage / F250 body issue

I recently acquired a SCX10 with a SMF rear truggy cage and ProLine F250 body. The cage is mounted, and the body is trimmed.
If I set the F250 cab against the truggy cage, my front axles aren't centered with the wheel wells on the F250 body. To get the front axles centered in the wheel wells on the body, I have about a 3/8" gap between the rear truggy cage and the body.
I measured the wheelbase on the SCX10 chassis, and it's at 12.3" (give or take 1/16").
Is this truggy cage and body set up for 12.3" wheelbase, or do I need to go with a 12" wheelbase?
The chassis has VP Currie axles on it, so I'm not sure if I can use the VP 12" wheelbase links on those axles.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are Currie/SCX links in both 12" and 12.3" on VP's site. The links for Curries and stock axles are not the same. Not sure if that could be part of your problem or not.

I'm thinking the wheelbase is too long. I think if I went with a 12" wheelbase, I would be right where I needed to be!

I'm not seeing the 12" wb Currie links on VP's site. Can you send me a link? Maybe I'm overlooking them.

Thanks for your help!!

Your right just went and looked. I thought for sure there was a set listed for 12" at one time. I am sorry for the wrong info, try and message them.

Yeah, I'll send them an email and ask.

Thanks!

Hey man! I figure I would chime in here beings I put you in this predicament. This should help you out
VANQUISH Axial SCX G6 Titanium 8pc. Link Kit 12.00 in WB

What I'm thinking though, is the difference between the 12.3 wb and 12 wb is they subtract the .3 out of the rear end links and not the front.

If you are just trying to move the front axle back, then I would remove one of the lower front links and the upper link and get a good center to center measurement of the link and rod ends, and maybe one of these might work for you.

SSD 92mm Titanium Lower Links for SCX10
SSD 100mm Titanium Lower Links for SCX10

I personally would see if you could get some different end links and play around and see if you can get the front sucked back. VP is just using traxxas revo rod ends on there links, a fairly standard size on rod ends. maybe try these and see if I there any shorter or possibly thread further on to the link.

RPM Rod Ends Short Black Traxxas

Hope this helps a little!

On a different note, finally made it to the PO today! I'm a very happy guy this evening! Thanks Man! I will shoot you a text too!

I think I have the issue figured out. The front axle isn't off center by much, but it is enough to notice when you put a front wheel on it.
I was looking at my SCX10 JK, which has Currie axles and the VP 12.3" Currie link kit on it. For whatever reason, I have the front lower link ends unscrewed about 1/16" on all for rod ends, on my JK. I measured the wheelbase on my truggy and compared it to the wheelbase on my JK, and I'm about 1/8" longer on the truggy. Since the rod ends are screwed all the way in on the truggy lower links, I'm thinking that if I use the VP 12.3" Currie links, I should be where I need to be. By doing that, I should be able to move the front axle back 1/8" or a little more.

Just trim the fender well so it looks right. A better approach angle is rarely a negative thing.
