Default This is for those running Dinky RC bedside kit

Hi all,
I really want a Honcho body set with the Dinky bedsides. My question is; has anyone made a bed platform from scratch and then added the bed side kit?
Reason is I'm not a fan of the cage design.
Thanks,
Scott

Just leave the lower portion and remove the top half of the cage??

May have to leave the piece that attaches to the cab

I've been eyeballing mine...
'cuz would be cool to design a drop bed.

I'd think it possible with a styrene build up...
The lower part of the cage could be filled
and create a tub...
but the rear body mount syst. would need be reworked.

But would still need to retain the lower cage assembly...
as the bedsides need to mount to the outer's (lower tubing)

Maybe one of these days...
but my honcho gets used too much
to hassle with another project.

pictars just 'cuz...

oh...

and there are two issues with the Dinky bedsides...
primarily the height of those bedside flares.

It doesn't follow the upper body (cab) line...
nor the lower body's line/flow (rocker)

because of that... I haven't had an interest
to alter the bed/cage.

tho' I was able to correct for the lower...
by adding a rocker panel that flows evenly from cab to bedside's

not likely as easily compensated for on the upper side...
tho' maybe a rail could be installed on the upper's to make it flow better ?
