Default Deadbolt 4 link question?

Yes I know the subjects been raised before and I have tried searching but to no avail.

I've recently converted the front of my deadbolt to 4 link but have found that for some reason the box didn't have the shorter front upper links in it. Of course I only discovered that once it was all back together and I find the front axle clocked forwards and no space to fit the servo horn.

My options are to just order the ax80043 tree and just use the plastic ones or to upgrade to aluminium links. But most kits seem to be for the 12.3 wheelbase and I don't know wether this will be ok with the deadbolts 12" wheelbase. Is the stretch only on the rear with these kits?

The easy solution is swap the front and rear upper links. It should correct the pinion angle on the front since the Deadbolt uses the same size links front and rear. Upper links that are a bit longer in the back don't cause as much problems as the front.

I made my uppers about a 1/2 inch shorter than the lowers works good on my rig

Very infuriating this. Tried your advice re swapping the front and rear uppers. It turns out they were already the same length. I'd just assumed (yeah, I know☺️) that they were different. As for the supers hefty plate, it looks like a good idea but the shipping charges are three times the cost of the plate! I'm sure it's good but it's too expensive to justify.

Are there now OEM links that fit without kicking the axle forward so much? It seems strange that a 4 link mount is included but the links prohibit its use.

Perhaps homemade is the only way.

Solved to for now. Searched again and found a lot referring to the servo hitting the crossmember. So I've not shaved the servo mounts and the crossmember and have enough clearance. I compared the servo to my wraith( also stock ) and the wraiths servo is 'shorter' so I'm not sure if servo height is an issue.

Regardless it looks like some homebrew links are in order so I also picked up some all thread and aluminium tube. Just need another set of revo ends and I'm there

I did look at that but with postage it was about $50! I think I'll see you it goes with chopped up servo mounts.

Thanks all the same though 😎

I understand that. I've been looking at a few parts over seas and the taxes vat and shipping are crazy.
