| rear lockouts----plastic or aluminum?
Is it best to leave the rear lockouts plastic or is it a good upgrade to switch to aluminum? I have heard mixed thoughts, just wanted to see what you guys thought.

I think it really depends on how hard you are on the rig... When I had plastic ones I bent axle shafts...When I switched to aluminum I broke housings...I don't know if there is one better than the other it really just depends on what fits your needs. I know that isn't much help but... If you want the bling factor get aluminum lockouts... if not just run the stock ones.

I did break a stock rear axle housing awhile back and this is prolly when I bent the shaft. It was allowing ring and pinion gears to skip occasionally, but I never heard it skipping....kinda chewed up stock cast ring gear teeth but still ran quietly although kinda tighter on the mesh. | |
