| Rear Axle Not Centered
I was installing some new slide rails on my Rubicon and realized that the rear axle is not centered to the body. It measures 4cm from the frame to the inside of the tire on one side and 3.5 cm on the other side, so I need to move it over 25mm to get it centered. I made the links, and after re-measuring them they are all the proper length. Do I shorten the links on the side that needs to come over? That seems the way but I'm thinking that will skew the axle forward on that side as well, or will it stay straight while moving over the proper amount? EDIT: I did pull off the upper links and one measured about 2mm longer than the other. After correcting that issue my axle is now properly centered. Last edited by BHP; 10-10-2015 at 11:29 AM. Are the rear frame rails bent more to one side... rearward of the transmission skid ? generally speaking... upper links adjust/control axle rotation. lower links adjust/control the wheel base length. Is the Rr axle positioned laterally to the frame/wheel well openings ? meaning: the Rr tires align/center within the wheel wells correctly. pictures would be of help |
