Default Project lifted SS

So I was walking through the LHS yesterday and came across an HPI '68 Camaro body and just had to get it for my scx10. So I have decided to start a thread to keep track of the whole project.

Just test fitting my new body to the scx10.

best of luck. I think you may have an issue with bumpers and the front overhang, but it will be interesting to see how you work it out. Maybe you mount the body low, but get the mud plates to lower the motor/raise the frame to clear 1.9s? That is what I did for my SCX10 to run 2.2s on the Mighty FC body. It worked pretty well.

Thanks! The body is a hair short for the frame, but I'm planning on making some custom bumpers and I'll have to get a little creative with the trimming to make up for it and make it look like it's not hacked up. Haha

So it's been an extremely slow process due to cold weather and no experience painting rc bodies (You'll have to excuse my poor attemp at painting then attempting to remove the paint), but I have finally gotten the body trimmed and mocked up on the frame and the light bar mounted!

What a project! I'm looking to mount a car body on my SCX10 as well, interested to see how this one turns out.

It's definitely a learning experience that all started with an impulse buy! But I guess this whole hobby is for me. Haha! What kind of body did you want to run?

I have just always wondered about putting a car body on an SCX10. I'll be waiting for your pics.

Hmmm, typically I don't like these kinds of things at all... But that looks so MadMax style!
Pretty nice job.

It's pretty good looking... you've done a good job getting it to sit pretty low on the frame....

Thanks! I have it as low as it will go on the front body posts. I'm planning on making some custom bumpers for it that will hopefully tie up the loose ends and give me the look I have imagined in my head this whole time.

Been a while since I've updated, but it's finally been warm enough to do some painting. I got the base coat on. Need to clear the windows and spray some flat black on the rest of the body and start working on the custom front and rear bumpers.

I had a sudden change of heart when I saw this color, but definitely glad I went with it! It's about 90 percent done. Still need to make the bumpers and add the lights, but it's finally painted and drive able!

Thanks for all the kind words. I'm pretty happy with the way it's turned out so far since it's my first rc body I've ever done. Here are a few generic flex pictures incase anyone was wondering about tire clearance. Just a tiny bit of rub, but nothing I'm worried about.
