| did I burn out my stock speed control and motor?
Iv bein runing 3s lipo on my stock scx10 ,it's started to glitch and throttle or reverse will stick.so I figured I'd get a new speed control and motor, just wondering if the 3s burned out the stock esc?I like the axial electronics and the brushed axial motors

Which ESC? The AE-5 was designed for the 3s and in my experience the AE-2 will take 3s if you run a BEC for the servo.

Did you get the receiver wet (snow) or really dirty? Mine has done similar things after the receiver got wet. Put it in a cup of rice overnight to draw out any moisture. Good to go.

| Re: did I burn out my stock speed control and motor? Here's a dumb question....Why would you need to run an external BEC for the servo on a AE2 running 3s? When the internal BEC output is 5v same as the AE5.

The AE5 was designed from the get go to handle 3S, the AE2 was not. The linear BEC in the AE2 can't handle the voltage of 3S. Its main purpose to to keep a constant flow of voltage to your motor, esc, and servo and help prevent brown outs caused by your voltage dropping below a certain point. An external BEC will handle the voltage "step-down" and make it safe to run up to 6s I believe on the AE2.

So what should I replace it with?of course I like runing 3s I like the speed of the 27turn on 3s and seemed to crawl well at a slow spesd ,I liked the stock electronics, but there gone ,So what Esc/motor will give me the speed and the smooth creep crawl?

i run the Holmes Hobbies BLE Pro and the Stubby 2200kv Puller Pro 540 motor. Super smooth start up and you can CREEP with this thing. But you can get a really smooth start up with and good sensored brusless system or a really high turn brushed motor. Mine, being a sensored brushless means no water though.
