| Genuine Beef Tubes and SSD D60 Axles
I have searched and have not found the answer thus far. I have SSD D60 axles and finally decided to order the genuine tubes for the D60's directly from BeefTubes. My issue is the stock SCX10 axle instructions are not applicable as the D60's do not have just a lip at the outer bearing. What would be the lip actually is a thicker wall throughout the whole D60 axle. I have a hard time believing BeefTubes would expect us to drill out the entire length of each stock SSD D60. I have emailed Beeftubes but have yet to receive a reply. Does anyone else have actual experience with this combination? The ID of the D60 is 8.5mm where the wall is thicker. The beef tube is 10.5mm. IF I were to drill out the thicker walled portion of the D60, which is 95% of its length, it would leave about 1.8mm of ID of the original plastic. That screams, "BAAAAD IDEA" at me. Thank you in advance, pics below for reference. The smaller tube is the SSD brass tube sold by RPP... Jason Bringing the pain since 1968 |

Beef Tubes sells the housings modded for the tubes. They don't expect you to drill them out because most people will grab a hand drill and end up ruining their housings. Unless you have the capability to bore out the SSD housings with a certain amount of precision, buy the modded ones from Beef Tubes.

So I have now tried contacting them on FB messenger. If I have to spend another $70 on their D60's in addition to the $50 I have already spent last fall on my existing D60's I am going to freakin pop. Bringing the pain since 1968 Last edited by Vengeance; 03-17-2016 at 02:20 PM.

The thin brass does not allow for the chubs/lockouts to screw into them with enough tension to count. That is why I felt it necessary to try Beef Tubes. But like I said, the rest of your product line is AWESOME! Bringing the pain since 1968

So quick follow-up... IM'd with Beef Tubes and long and short I am returning the tubes. He has an order in for more D60's but not sure when they would be available unfortunately. Most likely will go with TKO10's and BeefTubes down the road. Thank you to BeefTubes for dealing with this today. Bringing the pain since 1968 |

I just did the XR10 mod on my SSD axles and it was not easy to say the least! It did cost me (learning that you should not do it LOL)
