Drive shafts, knuckles, chubs, metal gears for the tranny, possibly wheels/hexes; stock diff gears will be OK for a while. And personally I run the slipper clutch to slip when she binds up and I keep the spur gear as plastic (I'd rather shred it than the tranny or pinion). Drive shafts would probably be the number 1 most important thing though. |

The sock drive shafts aren't up to the task? I have knuckles and c hubs inbound. |

Since it's a 35T and not higher turn or brushless, you might be OK if you set your slipper properly but the plastic shafts can twizzler fairly easily with higher torque applications..

I would go metal trans gears, hd diff gears, hubs, chubs, and cvds. That is what I have done to mine, running 2200 stubby on 3s

Steel transmission gears would be the first thing. I have Robinson Racing in one rig and Hot Racing lightweight steel gears in another and they have both held up perfect. Stainless/titanium/homemade links would be next if you dont have them already, along with aluminum knuckles. I dont really think you need to go much farther than that with your current motor setup unless you are really looking to toughen it up or if you just like to tighten down the slipper and pin it to win it...If thats your driving style, spools and HD gears would be good upgrades. If you want a lot of steering too, may as well make those high clearance knuckles and get some CVs. This gets expensive.... The Wildboar HD driveshafts (stock on Deadbolt and other newer Axials) are tough. My Bomber is pretty heavy, I have big tires, a lot of power, and often drive it like an idiot and I have yet to break one. I do have a MIP rear, but only because the stock driveshaft wont work with a centered rear axle. The front is still stock. |

Got homemade steel links, axial high steer knuckles and aluminum chubs on the way. Any suggestions on metal transmission gears? I'm running a brushed 35t motor w/ 16t gear.

The stock Tactic servo isnt very good. You used to be able to buy all metal replacements from a Tactic TSX 55 or 65? but I'm not sure Axial sells those anymore. You wont be able to take full advantage of the high steer unless you get CVs/VVDs. There are a couple aftermarket options (SSD, Locked Up RC) that run $40 and Vanquish run around $65. Axial's CVs have weak pins but you can replace them with music wire or buy some from a vendor here named Gunnar. Some folks grind the cups on the stock dogbone setup and get quite a bit extra steering. I havent done it though so I dont know how much steering you can get or how strong they are when you take material off the cups like that. |

I'm down to upgrade to CVDs, any brand you guys suggest? I don't always need brand names, just quality value. |

I'm going to have to trim one to use the RC4WD 2sp, so we'll see!
