So for the past few months I have been thinking up a way to build me a true roll cage for this jeep. The past few days I drew up some blue prints as some would call it and started messing with it. Found some metal rods and got a plan and starting on it in a few more pics to come soon. Here is what I got so far.

Starting on the cage.
Throughout the day I have worked on it here and there and started welding up the cage. This cage isn't much detail but it's my first one to build so I'm keeping it simple so in the future I could go back and change the shape or look of it. Slow process but here are some pictures of the build so far.

These are the pieces I will be welding up tomorrow for the door frame and window frame.

Stay tuned to see more thanks!!!!

Quick update on the cage so today I have completed the door and windshield frame. Tomorrow i should be able to start in the top side and get some of it built. The tacts are not great and I know I'm going to be cleaning them up soon and making it look clean.

I have some styrene on the way and planing to build some doors that I can open and close does anyone know where I can get a hinge small enough to make it work?

That's how I started, except I used brakeline. Are you going to add a cross brace across the back of the windshield, and in the middle?. After the first tumble down that rocky slope you'll be happy you added a couple more braces, just watch your weight if using solid rod, don't want to be top heavy.

Yes I am adding more braces today I have a little bit more to do before I am completely finished. The rod that I'm using surprisingly isn't that heavy at all and will be great to equal out the weight.

Got some more progress today for the most part it is almost complete. Adding a few more braces tomorrow. Wanted to keep this cage simple as I said before because in the future if I wanted to change something I could quick and simple.

Here is what it looks like on the body. Still cleaning up welds and going to get it ready to prime and paint.

So as I was building the roll cage I got a few more ideas along on this build so it's kinda venturing out away from the roll cage build but it's not much. I know I haven't kept y'all up to date but got some work done this weekend and here is what I got so far.

This is the cage primed and painted waiting to go in and bolted down.

I'm a previous comment I said I was installing doors well here they are. I cut out some half doors found a way to make a hindge and it's in the working process.

Did a little body work filled in some holes where my hindge will be going I know it looks blobed on there but it needed to be lol.
More is coming each day I try to build a little more and get the brain thinking thanks for viewing please stay tuned.

For the past two hours I have been working on the doors and sanding down the body getting ready to paint. Thinking I should have started this in the paint and body thread but oh well here are the pics.

Doors were placed and got the idea to build some door handles. Haven't gotten far today just the door handles. I am waiting to get some paint and I want to know if I should paint the doors black and kinda keep like soft doors or paint them with the color of the jeep. Recommendations please!
