The SCXII axles would be the better buy if you are upgrading from stock axles. The new axles have much better gearing and ground clearance than the OG version which no mod can overcome. It may also end up cheaper to get some SCXII RTR take-off axles versus the narrow XR mod. If you are starting with stock axles, the splined tubes, universals, c-hubs, and knuckles will run you at least $100. Add in HD gears and better lockers to make the specs comparable to the SCXII axles and you are looking at about $200. A set of complete SCXII axles off a RTR will run you $120-180. If you have upgraded your SCX10 axles already or have a deep parts stash, then the XR mod would make more sense. |

AR44 is the better all around axle and the aftermarket is about to catch up big time.

How about a combination of the two? I'll be picking up a set of scx10II axles in the near tuture to do a proof of concept which will lead into bigger & better things for the aftermarket no doubt.

Thanks all I appreciate the comments, The axles already have 8 degree knuckles and c hubs a swell as the hd vvd and no slop bushings. The reason I ask this is because I would like to upgrade to a Holms hobbies brushless setup. Will my setup hold up to it?

I believe that if you add the scx10II axles other changes need to be done not just adding them. You need to add a panhard also.

Thanks 4X4 freak. I will probably have to make custom links as well. I'll stick with the setup I have, do you think the vanquish vvd hd axle shafts will hold up to brushless power? Thanks

My SCX10 has never been powered by anything less than a brushless motor on 3s and the VVDs are over 2 years old at this point. | |

You can run same links but you will need to change ballends to scx10ll to make these axles work.I'll I can say these scx10ll axle where to run on the scx10ll chassis. |

| Re: Xr mod or scx10 ii axles? OG axles with Vanquish Stage 1, VVDs, GCM panhard mount, brushed, but 3 or 4s, other than the assortment of links to get the axles under the body, the rest is SCX10ii. Going to see how Wraith links work to push the front axle a bit further forward so I can fit 2.2 KLRs. Moral of story, just do it, lol.
