| SCX-10 aluminum truggy
I'm going to build some true aluminum truggy chassis for the scx-10 based rigs, what are some other bodies you guys are running on the trail honcho other than stock? I bought a new RTR honcho just for a pattern and for measurements needed The first step was to make the connection plates with sliders for the truggy cage Than I needed a weld jig Thats it for now, I will start working on the truggy cage, any suggestions or ideas would be appeciated |

I'll probably be turning the RC4WD Expedition Jeep into a truggy, and I know a few people who have NuKizer truggies who might like the additional scale points. That Proline Toyota would be a hot ticket as well. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk |

The proline sr5 would be awesome. Also a tamiya/rc4wd hilux cab with truggy cage would be great. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

I like your bender setup, have you tried it on steel tubing?

| Re: SCX-10 aluminum truggy I was it a comp over the weekend and saw the proline chevy and Toyota on a stock honcho they fit and looked good, I will add 2 studs on front of my cage and drill 2 holes in the body, It will then come off by pulling 2 clips on the hood

I started to make some parts for the truggy back, I will have to start making a weld jig to hold the parts to see how they fit |

I found time to get the cage fit and welded, now it's time to cut the truck in half |

I'm very satisfied with the fit of the aluminum truggy cage, A matching front bumper is in the works, This new RTR scx-10 truggy will be sold with all the stock parts after I make all the patterns and jigs I need, I will make a few of these cages for sell |

Your welding is top shelf! Curious to see how it holds up. I would recommend some diagonal bracing right behind the cab. Ive done a bit of tube work using both 3/16" steel brake line and solid rod and it bends over time. I do run my stuff hard and they have taken big tumbles, bent tubing is the result. My trucks aren't heavy either so its not the weight that is doing the damage, just big falls

I made this aluminum tube chassis class 2 about 6 years ago, It's bin comped hard and I have not had any problem with the frame, If you drop a rig high enough on to something hard enough something has to give, I will do some testing on brake line, solid 3/16 rod, and 6061 1/4'' aluminum, I could add some bracing, just trying to keep the weight down |
