First build thread so bear with me.... I have always been a big square body crew cab fan. I owned an 89' and it was my favorite truck ever. I had wanted to build a RC version for a while. Someone's abandoned project came up for sale so it seemed like just the opportunity I had been waiting for to start my first custom build. I get almost all my parts by buying/selling/flipping and parting out rigs so most everything for the project was sourced from parting out other rigs I bought. here I what I started with a poorly made narrowed crew cab clod with wraith axles on a standard scx10 frame: |

Next I sourced a Gpseed Lcg Chassis from a guy who bought it but never used it for a build and started doing body work......lots of body work. I also thought with the pinch body the wraith axles looked to wide so I kept some SSD dana 60's from a scx10 I parted out with Vanquish links I stole from the same parts wagon. I wanted a prerunner style cage to come out of the back but I'm no metal worker so after doing some measuring I ordered a twin hammers cage to see what I could make work. Last but not least I picked up a used super shafty bomb proof trans for a great deal. |

Next was body work...Again. the 1:1 I owned also had a cowl induction hood which I wanted to re-create. I used styrene to make my own. I also got the chassis sitting on some shop shoes while I was trying to decide on wheels and tires. |

Got the chassis all dialed in. 103mm Proline Powerstrokes, VP Links, CMS. going with a rock 412 and MMP for electronics and a high tech 9750th all grabbed from other rigs that came across the parts bench. |

I got some wheels and tires. picked up used Voodoo KLRs with no wheels and grabbed a set of Locked Up RC trailready beadlocks from the axial buy sell trade page on face book. Pictured here with Baja claws but I bought wheels only for my KLR's |

Time to lay down some Paint! took me forever to decide on colors but I finally went with True silver over competition orange. I'm happy with the look. first shot was the initial lay down, shots after are after I added a black separation stripe. |

Finally got to set the body on an get a feel for how the finished truck was going to look. Its not mounted, but it definitely happy to see the body on the frame. Still working out the cage fitment with the body so it isn't on here. |
