Default ssd axle narrow xr mod

Hey guys, has anyone done a narrow xr mod to the ssd d60 axles?
I think I know how to do it using the ssd xr wide brass tubes, but what seeing if y'all have done it yet.

Any kind of XR mod is redundant now really as 8 degree/zero ackerman conversions are available: Pro Steering Conversion Kit for SCX10 (Silver)

Do they give similar steering in the SCX10.1 to say the SCX10.2?

Yes. Steering angle is usually not the issue. Ackerman, camber & caster all give different steering characteristics. Not necessarily increase the angle but improve the performance.

Yes I am aware of the Pro Steering kit, a very nice upgrade indeed. Unfortunately I bought all the stuff awhile back to build a set of wide xr mod scx10 axles, after building them I decided they were to wide for my build and since then the axles have just been sitting around. Now I want to build another scx10 and wanna use those parts that I already have laying around along with the d60 axle housings. I also believe using the splined brass tubes from ssd will make the axle stronger than using the standard brass tube.

Can your axles with the 8 degree steering and and zero ackerman setup get over 50 degrees of steering? The xr mod with the right shafts can get 70* of steering. I wouldn't call it redundant. If there is a way for me to keep my narrow xr mod I would run these axles in a heart beat.

I did it. I used vanquish 8deg knuckles, sds kingpin bushings, and vanquish knuckles withbcut down universals. The sds bushings make it easy to bolt the wraith knuckles to the vanquish 8deg knuckles and you should be able to get them on rcbros.com

I'm pretty sure the narrow mod can be done to ssd axles. I'm thinking all you gotta do is cut the ends of the axles (just like the stockaxle housings) and buy ssd brass wide tube inserts and cut them back at end that is inserted to the axle housing.

I was going to give it a try when I first posted this but ended using my wide set up on a YOTA build.
