Default Old school cj build

A buddy gave me an old proline scrambler body so I figured I’d repurpose one of my less used trucks to build it.
Removed the front of the stock scx frame and brazed a rear section of another scx frame to gain room for steering since I’m running shorter then stock shocks
Got the ride height set where I wanted it after the chassis mod and built a battery tray , some electronics box mounts and some sliders out of aluminum.
Got it all done and running. Still need to build some simple bumpers and swap in a 35t Holmes motor

I love these old school simple builds. They bring back good memory's.

My memory is a little sad... 'cuz I had one of those bodies, unpainted, waiting to be prepped and mounted on on of my old Traxxas rigs - and then my apartment complex burned down!

Thanks. I’ve been into rc crawlers for a long time so I also have fond memories of the good old days too. Back when you had to make everything instead of hitting the “buy it now” button

That sucks! I’ve had several of these bodies over the years, mostly on nitro bashers. They never lasted long lol

That’s the idea. If it doesn’t work well I will mod it until it will. All
my trucks are fairly capable since we have some really challenging terrain here

Started on a front bumper for this build. Still a bit more to add to it but the general shape is done
