Default winch mounting

So I built a winch the other day from a tactic 150 oz/in servo. this was my first time going into a servo but it was pretty easy and once I got the Potentiometer set it worked great. so now I have this huge servo winch.

I guess my first question is... will this thing be strong enough to do anything?

2. where has other people mounted servo winches on the scx?

thanks

Yeah I'm sorta stuck with the same issues. I know mine is sturdy enough to pull my truck up a pretty decent incline, but where to mount it is the issue.
I have a CMS and my servo is mounted left to right and takes up space up front on the frame. My battery is tucked up front behind the shocks so there isn't a lot of room there.
I'm almost considering mounting it way in the back and just making a few guides to route the cable around the transmission and other things in the way up to the front bumper.
Of course that means I'd have to add about a foot of winch cable to compensate for what's lost so I don't know...

GCM has a dual servo mount for the scx10. When I went to CMS on two if my rigs I bough the mounting kit and mounted the winch in the front.

If you are not running a cms then it will be up to you to figure that out. Prior to the cms my scx10 had the battery moved to sideways just in front of the tranny. This cleared the whole front. I cut the battery plate in half and mounted it in the front, then mounted the winch to it, and used a rod end as a guide.

Winch cable, adding a foot should not be an issue if you are using braided fishing line.

Post 9 of this thread has a picture of the dual mounted servo set up.
