Default Feeling lost or dumb on bumpers.

I got my kit finally. I am almost done with the build, which was way easier than my Bomber build. I purchase a front and rear RC4WD bumper for it. I took the advice of everyone else in that the stock ones were poor. How do I mount these things. I am new to the crawler world and not new to RC but this is frustrating. I can see that they bolt up outside the frame rails. Do I need a different crossmember than the stock one for the stock bumpers. What am I missing? These bumpers are for the old version SCX10. I know that is not an issue as they should fit. Please help the dumb guy.

Thank you.

Just do what you said; bolt them up on the outside of the framerails. If they are steel bumpers, you don't really need a cross member. Just use lock nuts on the inside.
You may have to drill a couple new holes for a sturdy mounting pattern.

They should just bolt to the side of the frame but you will need to make extensions if running the jeep body.

Did you get the mounts? They are separate items from the bumpers

Yes. I have ever the stock mounts. I bought RC4WD bumpers and they bolt up on the sides. I suck at fabricating so I may end up using the stock rear bumper until I figure something out.
