Default 32p to 48p conversion

My kids run 48p in their Scx10 OG and Ax10 so I'd like to change my Scx10 ii RTR tranny (old type) from 32p to 48p so we can all share the same gears. I know it's a downgrade but parts are hard to find where I am and I already have 48p spares. Would I just need the 48p slipper kit to make this happen?

I am curious too... nothing wrong with 48 pitch, just know you MIGHT round off a spur.... unless you get a steel spur!;)

You will destroy the 48p spurs before the 32p spur...I have never tore up a 32p spur gear, I have tore up plenty of 48p spur gears.. Why worry about it? I am sure you get us mail, why not simply spend a few bucks and get a 32p replacement spur off of ebay or the like and toss it in your spare parts bin.

I can promise you converting it to 48p will cost more than buying a 32p replacement as the spur gears slipper designs are different.

If you have the rtr trans you would need the slipper assembly for sure and I believe it is a different top shaft as well.

yup, both the RTR and Kit trans spur assemblies are different.

Alright, I'm hearing that I won't be stripping a 32p spur, so I won't worry about it then. Thanks everybody!

You should convince the guys you run with to switch to 32 pitch.

I could, but then they'd make ME pay for the upgrade; that's how my kids roll.
