Question best link ends for scx10ii kit?

totally new to this stuff, finding this forum very helpful.

a couple months ago i picked up a 10ii kit and i've been having a ton of fun with it, however the links have a ton of play now and my axles are pretty sloppy thanks to it.

i currently have the vanquish balls/ends sitting in my wishlist at amain, but they're out of stock at the moment and, for all i know, not necessarily the best option.

https://www.amainhobbies.com/vanquis...s08321/p665205

what do you guys use? would replacing the plastic stock balls from the kit with metal balls be enough, or should i replace the rod ends as well?

A lot of people think the Traxxas rod ends are among the best quality available.

Yeah, the Traxxas rod ends are very good. Vanquish also sells rpm Traxxas style rod ends with their brass pivot balls. Link-http://www.vanquishproducts.com/rpm-rod-ends-with-brass-pivot-balls/

I just finished my kit too long ago, I used Axial # AXA1331 they seem to work good. I have used them in my Wraith and Yeti over the last year.

I use the SSD ends with the steel (or was it aluminium) balls along side with the spacers. Perfect fit.

I second the SSD rod ends. Available in M3 and M4. M4s are a direct fit with the SSD spacers. Less slop than the stock ones.

And most hobby shops have them in stock.

^^^^^Agreed! Vanquish incision link kits come with traxxas ball ends. They are super durable when compared to stock axial ball ends(soft and with deform).

I had those and had poor luck with them. They didn't last much longer than axial. I had the 4mm versions and spacers for my 10ii. I ended up with traxxas Revo rod ends.

I remember back in the day we walked up hill both ways BC, (before crawling). We used to boil plastic parts to make them harder. Hell, we boiled stuff to dye it and turns out it made it harder too. Think I'll try it on some new scx10/2 ends to check it out.
