Default Deadbolt 2 servo winch mount questions.

I’ve searched and haven’t found the answers I need.

I purchased the Axial servo Mount tree (kit parts) but it appears the large piece (between shock mount and battery tray) does not work with the rtr battery tray. I’d rather not purchase the kit tray and don’t want to just bolt the servo ear on top of my steering servo as Harley did in his build off Honcho.

Anyone have some insight or better photos of how to mount the rear (motor/skid side) servo ears? I’m sure I could figure it out with some tinkering but would rather just get it done in one go. Running out of time before King of the Flats.

Yes, I’ve seen that thread but I’m looking for top down photos of the mount near the RX box. The first photo is decent but I need photos of the mounts with the winch removed.

Thanks big time! Unfortunately, the RTR battery tray does not have the tab that’s adjacent to the tab on the RX box, so I’ll have to figure something else out. Not sure why they’d go through all that trouble making a different battery tray....

why did they make one piece axle housings too? I wasn't impressed when I got my rtr deadbolt 2 and saw one piece molded housings, plastic links and plastic shocks. Cherokee kit is the way to go.

I’m not too bothered by the one piece housings, tbh... aside from the inability to add the metal goodies that are available for the kit housings. I actually prefer not having to look at the link mount screws though.

Here’s what I came up with...

Just enough room for the locked up spool.

And used a tiny rod end from an older Losi rally car as a guide.

Nice solution there.

I would add a brace from the battery tray to the radio box right behind the rear winch mount to keep the battery tray from flexing during hard use.

I may do that but it’s actually fairly stout the way it is currently. Gonna tinker with it this evening anyways though. Thanks!
