Default UMG10 6x6 ... the start of the hauler...

I was flip flopping between the UMG10 and the Traxxas... there are already a few of the Traxxas around so I decided on the UMG10... out of the box the thing was pretty cool.. like everything first to go were tires and wheels.. I put on a set of Boom Racing Krait wheels with Pitbull Rock beast tires... other upgrades are a Reef steering servo and some upgrades steering links. I plan to make this a flat bed to haul some scale snowmobiles...or quads...or something of that manner.

i haven't done anything with this project.. i got distracted by 3 other projects lol..

so i was thinking.. since this is going to be a hauler.. more than a crawler, would any think its a bad idea to get rid of the shock hoops and go to a very short shock almost directly to the frame? i want to keep the bed as low as possible.

Question Re: UMG10 6x6 ... the start of the hauler...

On the UMG 6x6, Would I be able to replace the stock "bumper plate" with a metal one with a receiver for towing? Similar to this one pictured below, or is the stock plate part of the hinge system and cannot removed?

Worse case I'll screw one of the hitches (second picture) into the plastic. Not ideal, but it'll work with some reinforcement.

Thanks for the assistance!

Figured out a way to tow a trailer using the stock bumper. You need the rear cap for the body hinge. Scalerfab also sells a tow hitch that should work. I'll probably give that a try in a couple months.

Also, you'll want to add weight to the front. A trailer will cause the front to come up and tires won't have solid ground contact. you'll be able to steer and drive, but your tires won't be fully planted.

I picked up this because I couldn’t find any main stream company’s that made one, it’s pretty sweet for what it is,
And slinky750 the tire rim combo looks sick on that thing

Thanks dude! I've seen those, but not the one for the UMG. That's what I've been looking for Just to double check, it looks like it has holes for the hinge mount, it does right?
