| Shocks for 2.2 conversion
I am looking to put some 2.2 on my scx10 ii, but wondered what shocks/dampers to use? Currently have the stock Traxxas gts installed, but wondered if the long Traxxas ones will work?

2.2's on the 10II take a lot of work. The tires will rub the frame and links up front. the sliders need to be modified to clear the tires, and the wheel offset needs to be pushed out. Longer shocks make things worse by changing the geometry and shortening the wheelbase. Longer shocks also raise the center of gravity as do the taller tires. It is possible and I did it myself, with my Bronco. Ultimate Adventuring Bronco After driving her for over a year now I can say she works well, the hard body doesn't help with stability, but she runs very realistically. I am currently running rc4wd "superlift" 100mm shocks up front and 90mm out back. |
