Question SCX10.3 Jeep JL wrangler body

First off, let me start by apologizing if this is in the wrong section. I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the SCX10 III sub forum?

With that said, I want to mount a SCX10.3 Jeep JL wrangler body on to a SCX10.2 chassis, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it? For those of you who've done it. How did you mount yours?

Default Re: SCX10.3 Jeep JL wrangler body

I just did this yesterday; it is NOT a direct drop on.
I purchased the iii body along with iii bumpers and bumper/body mounts.
The front body mounts don't really "fit", but they work. The front cross member does NOT fit at all.
The rear mount/cross member is a direct fit in the stock location of the ii, but the body posts are spaced wrong...
I ended up moving the rear member backward so it is only mounted by one screw on each side; no peg.
This fixes the body length issue, but it's not super tight and the wheel base is a hair off (maybe 1/4").
My next step will be to correct the wheelbase. I hope to do it w/o modifying the links!
I'll try to get some pics this weekend.

Here's how it sits now:

My son is totally fine with it as is, but I'm going to try to get it right.
