Default Scx10 ii jeep Cherokee

I have a scx10 ii I just got . I was thinking of adding the overdrive for crawling . Would I have to get anything with that so I don’t strip anything ? Or can it just be added to stock diff ?

You can add directly. I’ve found some extra weight will work wonders with the extra pull from the gears. I like brass knuckles personally. I’ve already adjusted foams(CI)and tires (pit bulls)
Before gear change.

First, Welcome to RCC!
Changing to an OD front gear will only help you climbing and will hurt everywhere else. On the other hand added weight will help in most every situation.

In your option, does it mess with anything else when you install the OD ? Yah for sure gonna get some brass parts on there I was looking at the knuckles and the diff cover . Just was thinking if i switch one part to metal do I have to switch all plastic parts to metal as well

What he says is when the fronts turn faster, you will suffer on straight ahead trailing. OD is great for crawling and climbing, not going fast on trails
