| SCX10 Jeep Cherokee I plan on getting an scx10 with a Pro-Line Cherokee body but wasn't sure on which to buy, the dingo or the honcho, because of the wheelbase. HELP? |

Dingo. It wheelbase matches the Cherokee. Honcho is too long. |

i would suggest the honcho, there are more readily available parts and more body choices.

Basically had the same question. Im new and really want a Trail Honcho because I see its the only one offered as kit. If the Dingo was offered as a kit I'd prefer that because like the OP am interested in a Wrangler or Cherokee body. I take it Axial has no interest in making the Dingo a kit. I guess theres really no harm in building a Honcho then eventually buying a Dingo for the GF. |

Dingo is the correct wheelbase and no modifications will be needed.

the dingo wheelbase is offered in a kit its the scx10 kit it has the kustom cf-100 truck on the box the green one that a 11.4 wheelbase same as dingo minus all the extra's and the cf-100 comes with aluminum links and its the cheapest kit. i thought you could get the cherokee in a 11.4 wheelbase or a 12.3 i may be wrong...if i am it will be pointed out, on the cherokee i know im right about the kit cause i bought the cf-100 kustom hope this helps

Nice thing is with the dingo you can reuse the fender flares on the cherokee with minimal trimming and it looks really good!

I made a mistake and got the cherokee for my honcho and had to shorten all the rear links to make it fit. Anyhow you should go with the dingo.

| Re: SCX10 Jeep Cherokee Not to be an a-hole or anything but I'm glad he dug this thread out of the abyss of info here. My wife has a honcho and wants the cherokee body for it. I found this thread by searching. If Dmanmaster hadn't of posted, you wouldn't have posted and I'd still be looking, probably with an unhappy wife. So, thank you to both of you!

I know this is an old thread but I just recently became a proud owner of a SCX10 the Jeep Wrangler AX90028. I would like to put the Cherokee body on it. My question is for the body to fit, I would have to shorten the wheelbase correct? This would involve replacing the rear 4 link and moving the rear axle forward. Would this be all that is required? I'm new to the crawling world but so far I'm enjoying it.

Ideally you should shorten both front and rear links so as to keep your weight centered. Lower link length for the cherokee body is 92mm (just the link, without ends) or 115mm eye to eye.

I kept the length of the links as it came with the scx10 wrangler. It's slightly longer but I made up the difference using fender flares. The rear tire is centered on the flares but the front is pushed forward a little. I'm fine with the way it came out. I have no issues with it. I'll post a pic once I get better wifi. The flares really open up the wheel wells and give you a little leway with the wheel base. The truck looks great! I on the other hand made links (all 8 ) installed the body at dingo wheelbase and when the wife drove it, she hated it! So she's back to stock honcho w/b and body |
