Default AE-5L ESC Head/Taillight Connectors?

Hmm anyone tell me definitively which connections are used for the lights on the AE-5L? I need to repair them, but HH couldn't verify what type they were.

Response from HH:
"HI NATHAN I BELIEVE THOSE ARE JST PH2.0 PLUGS"

But when I compare to a JST PH2.0 balance board, they don't seem to match.

I want to use the OE so I can upgrade my sn to the light control unit so he doesn't always have to plug and unplug them.

I don't know what connector they use but why not just buy a whole new set of lights for $10?

I can't tell you what they are. but I can tell you they don't fit my PH 2.0 connectors that I purchased on Amazon.
The Ph 2.0 connectors have a little ridge on one side to prevent reverse polarity. In your charger board you can see the slit on the bottom side where the ridge should run.
The light connectos don't have that so thaty guy from HH didn't know... which is a bit unsettling if you ask me. They can't look up the parts on their own products? unfortunate.

If you are just looking to repair the lights, I would cut the ends off, give them a twist and a solder and heat shrink and call it a day. Failing that, cut those ends off and buy actual PH 2.0 male and female ends and switch over the connectors so you don't have to worry about it in the future. Amazon has packs of 10 for just a few bucks. Might be worth a shot.

The problem is that the connectors that are broken were on the ESC side.

I thought it funny that not even HH didn't know. There solution was to buy a new ESC.

The connector is a micro JST. It's not a PH2.0 - that's bigger.

This is basically same connector that many of the Blade Micro Helis use as well as the original Blade Inductrix / Tiny Whoop quads used before the PH 2.0 and Powerwhoop connectors came on the scene.

boldfin,

Have you ever seen where you can buy the connectors? I have looked for kits but find ones with all of the 3-6pin connectors that I can't barely see myself needing.

The packs I saw on HobbyKing were the closest, but the Males were for PCB boards.

The 2-pin Micro JST 1.25 male/female connectors are sold in pairs on Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Banggood. You can buy bundles of 10 pairs for less than $10. Just do a search on "micro JST 1.25 connector" and you should find plenty of purchase options.

So I ordered the connectors last night and awaiting for their arrival. Looking forward to getting this fixed.

After researching last night, I learned that the AE-5L will not work with the Light Control units from Axial.

In the end, after the boy saves some money, I may to have him switch out to another ESC eventually. Looking at Firma 40a 2-in-1.

Would go well to get some Smart data on his Battery in his Rugged controller.
