Yeah those newer higher prices is not looking good for my fleet expansion. In all fairness though I think that I have only bought 2 out of 20 of my Rc's new and paid retail. I surf the classifieds and ebay I have a JLU and a Gladiator that combined I paid barely over retail of the gladiator. So I guess for me it will be a waiting game to see if someone gets one and doesn't like it and feels the need to give it away lol.

The price is ridiculous, but damn that is lusty. No more RTRs crawlers for me though. Having to disassemble most of it to check lube and pull spacers is silly and the radio setup is trash compared to my past experiences. I won't even get into the one stripped diff cover that I found. It actually looks like more fun to build the kits as the scale factor makes it more like an OG plastic model that is much more fun when done. Also, if I paid more attention to the fact that the body was pre-cut and masked, that would have sold the Kit for me. Live and learn! |

RTR are most of the time nothing more than kits already built for you to see how it performs then disassembled to install the various more or less usefull upgrades ... with one big advantage ... you're not stuck in the middle of the build because of a missing part in the box and you haven't forgot to install that pin in step #2.

Also if I goof up, that is on me. I can accept that easier than the senseless challenges that I ran into with the SCX10 III RTR. Still, I learned my lesson here. | |
