| Wraith Power Test- 13.5 + 4s
There are going to be a lot of fun setups for this rig, so I thought I'd review one. - Castle BEC @ 6v - Mamba Max Pro - 13.5 Sensored 'Team Powers' brushless motor - Maxamp 2200 4s Lipo under the hood - Gearing of 20/84 (Stock gearing is 20/80) I found this setup to be totally crawlable due to the smoothness of the sensored motor, and it has enough wheelspeed to do all the fun stuff without going completely overboard and risking lots of breakage. More off road tests soon! It should also work well on 3s. I tried it geared 14/84 first, and the crawl was awesome, but the top end wasnt where I wanted it. My Wraith has been upgraded with Aluminum steering knuckles. MIP C-drives and steel tranny gears are standing by. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV-pe09Mj4k Thanks! Have played with the cheat mode on the MMP much? I have on a few of mine with 17.5 and 21.5 on 3,4 and 6s. World of difference. I was able to gear down, but bump the timing at higher rpms to recover the top end. I'm going out on a limb and saying you're going to upgrade to 32 pitch gears soon. Thanks for documenting this for us, Ryan! Looks like you've got the precise combo of crawling and speed that I'm looking for. Was anything getting excessively warm on 4s?

| I've only run it for maybe 5 minutes at a time, but in that time it only got mildly warm. I'll run a full pack through it soon and let everyone know. I might end up putting a fan and/or heatsink on it regardless.

Look's like the perfect setup. Do you know anything about the sway bar kit that was mentioned for this truck? Look's like it might be ok without one. Nice to have options though...

Ryan nice video, and thanks for the inner details also! I like the front location for the lipo, does it feels better now at climbing with the added weight forward? From the video looks like the front bias has some anti-wheelie effect compared to other video seen before. Guess some better handling/steering when on-throttle?? From the pic ain't clear if the front location is a optional-stock location or if you had to relocate something in the process, but anyway it looks like there's enough space for an even bigger lipo. Would a 3s 4000-5000 fit up front there? Thanks |
