Default drag brake??

i know the box says the stock esc has a drag brake, but mine sure doesn't seem like it. is there a way to program or set up the drag brake WITHOUT a castle link? if not, then i guess i'm ordering more stuff!

No, you need to connect it to a pc. The castle programming card works but only as a pc link. Card itself can't program the esc.
On the menu you can turn the drag brake up to 100%.
But, on the proper Castle sv2 esc you can turn it up to full 'crawler mode' which is 213%.
So you can make it far better than stock (50% I think) but you won't get a full crawler brake from the stock esc.
Hope that helps.

Just recalibrate your controller. That is likely the problem. The instructions are on the Axial website under the ESC. It's simple to do.

i thought i read somewhere on the "destructions" that you can program the esc by following a series of beeps and led colors? (or is that on my BR-XL)

Brake brake isn't going to be too noticeable with the stock motor.

Yes you can program the AE-2 ESC without a castlelink. Instructions are here:

Now all I have to do is remember to make it a clickable link.

says default drag brake setting is 100% so im guessing thats as much as you get without a pc link. not sure if you can program stock esc over 100% drag brake with the castle link.
