I use that exact cut on my LCC and it works extremely well for my setup. But then again I really dont think you can truely go wrong with any pin tire cut pattern. I have tried three or four styles and they all seem to work about the same.

Harley 10-05-2011 09:21 PM

Rear is back assembled for now. Waiting on all the VP stuff.

Width came out much wider than I wanted but oh well. Sitting at 11.25" right now. It's wide but I'll give it a shot.

Harley 10-07-2011 10:10 AM

Looks like some posts were lost in the crash yesterday.

Anyway, looks like this rig will have to be completed next week. Shipping didn't quite make it in time.

Landcruiser 110 10-12-2011 01:30 AM

this is looking great Harley, how strong are the wraith axles compared to upgraded SCX10 axles?

Depends on what you call upgraded. Unless you are using Super 300's I would say that Wraith Axles with universals is stronger. If you do AX10 with long Beef Tubes and XR10 universals would be about the same and a better width for a sportsman. This truck is wide.

Harley 10-12-2011 05:48 PM

Starting to dig in.

Harley 10-12-2011 06:34 PM

Hmmmm, just not liking this setup :-/

The Wraith axles are just too wide. Link mounts are causing suspension binding that I'm not liking mostly. It would require some much more complex bends.

This project may have to turn into something else....

Almighty Malach 10-12-2011 06:58 PM

Don't give up that easy Your Awesomeness.:flipoff:

Drill out some bent XR rod ends to 4mm. Should fix the binding at the axle without needing to go crazy with the links.

dogzpolo 10-14-2011 08:11 AM

Looks good. Can't wait to see it built.

running into the same problem with those axles on alot of attempts with other chassis.

Harley 10-14-2011 09:01 AM

This will likely be converted to AX10 axles with long beef tubes.

Mini 10-14-2011 10:01 AM

I think you need to fix the glass on your tabel looks a little off lololol

4xFord 10-14-2011 10:46 AM

Did you try mounting the lower links inboard of the dual sheer mounts?

Also you could run XR lockouts with cut down stock shafts to narrow the rear axle.

Mounting inside the mounts was tough on the diff side. No room for a nut. Could be done though if you took the mount off first and used a button head.

XR lockouts did go on but yes you need to cut down shafts and there isn't enough meat on the shafts to do that IMO.

i felt like this also. Runn'in into a little more work than i thought. Among other things, i have to make all new links and might have to use calculus.

Think about it this way, if you just go back to ax10 axles, ehh, it will probably be bad ass, but wraith axles...

Push it thru man!"thumbsup"

Well the mounts are super easy to pull off due to the design. Why not just try that? Unless you ordered a set before, KC said he wasn't going to make any more long beef tubes.

That wasn't really my biggest concern. I could build some crazy curved links like we build for the MOA's but my concern is width mostly. I'm at a little over 11.5" now and without special wheels it's not gonna be where I want it.

I read he isn't making them. I can always just go have some turned though. They are a simple product.

I hear ya, they are better suited for a shafty super really, they are Damn near as wide as my super berg axles!

DRCrawlGood 10-14-2011 06:35 PM

Thats sad to hear these could of made some nice sporty axles if they werent so wide.
