Default RC4WD XVD issues

I am just curious if I am the only person that has had problems with the RC4WD Wraith XVD's? Mine broke within 2 minutes of running on 2s with a HH 35t motor and I wasn't even being hard on it yet. I have broken one stock dogbone but it lasted at 10-15 packs and I was being hard on it when it went.

I've beat mine silly with no issues, I hear all these stories of them breaking, but I havent been able to do it yet. I have a lava rock course in the backyard, very high traction, lots of areas that can bind up the drivetrain, and I cant kill them.

and the xvd does not offer 50 degrees of steering without binding, and that bind would cause a break for sure.
The shaft itself broke. There was no bind from steering I had not even turned it but one time and was going straight when it broke.

No my man, your not the only one with issues. I've posted on a couple different threads about XVD problems.

I've broken 4 sets in the last 6 wks. I am patiently waiting for my Axial universals which shipped yesterday!

I also received a replacement set, kudos to RC4WD!

Unfortunately they were one of the 4 that failed, so I kindly requested no more replacements until they bring out their heavy duty version.

I've talked with Tom thru pm's and they feel their standard XVD was fine for the stock Wraith but not up to the task for the high power alot of us are usig in the rigs. They recognize this and are bringing out better product and I hope be one of the first to try those!

For now I'm waiting to abuse the Axial universals.

I have snapped 2 short side shafts. Both under less than abusive conditions within minutes of driving. Both blew out just at the shaft to cup junction. Steering even limited to prevent max stress. Sounds like some have held up but not mine. They sent a replacement after the first ones.

I once broke an early (couple years ago) XVD on my smooth kitchen floor. Apparently they havent learned much.

Ya they seem to need 5 or 6 versions before they get their axles up to spec.
