Default Wraith upper link mounts not centered on axle?

While designing some new Wraith parts I couldn't understand why some of my measurements weren't adding up, it was driving me nuts. Then I measured the stock housing and upper link mounts and found that the upper link mounts are not in the middle of the axles.

Here are a couple of photos of the measurements (I couldn't hold the caliper and camera at the same time but I did measure properly)

Am I right or am I going nuts?

Someone else want to check?

What kind of measurement's do you get if you measure like this.

Center of lower link mount, center of upper link mounts. and vice versa.then center of lower link mount to outside of axle. (where knuckle seats)

Just curious more or less.

EDIT: Stupid question, Did you measure another - JUST incase ?

The lower mounts are in the right place. The center of the upper link mounts are not centered relative to the lower link mounts.

I think the upper link mounts are 1.75mm off from being centered.

Just measured as well. They are not centered from what I can see as well. Not sure why

Wow! Missed it by that much!

Nothing a Wraith Dinky Link can't fix!
Been there done that weeks ago...

Just been curious what Axial's response would be...

I didn't look at it and see if it has any effect on wheelbase, such as making one side slightly longer.

Yes there must be some small difference of wheelbase on each side. Also the chassis will not be centered over the axles so wheels will be further away from the chassis on the short side of the axle.

I suspect it's just a mistake that was made in the CAD for the part. So whenever they measured the samples they would have matched the CAD and looked right. Thus the error was not found.

Was there any ever any resolution or response from Axial concerning this?

Not really a big issue, I wonder if they'll fix it on the future even.

The VP Wraith Axle Truss fixes this issue.
Axial is aware of this issue and you can be certain they either have, or will fix it.

Like muddauber7 said they have the fix and it looks awesome to really scale looking and fitment is perfect yes vp came out with a truss and I didn't know until this thread that vp's centered it up but I should've figured they would. Vp's looks awesome along with dinky's but I like the more scale look on the axle. But I'm sportn vp everywhere else though

sorry, but on a little rig like this, 1.75mm or 1/16" is a joke, I'm sure my eye is farther off that that.

If I were axial, I'd just leave it.

Just measured mine and got the same measurements. I guess this answers my question why my cage was offset from my axle.

But by comparison that would be like 2 inches on a full sized vehicle and it does make a difference

this would explain why I always noticed the wheel base was longer on one side than the other and forced me to trim the steering to correct this, thought it was just mine and fixed it by adding small plastic shims on some of the links to correct the wheel base so left and right are the same.

I wish I would've found this thread sooner...

I just narrowed an AR60 for a project I'm brewing up, and also couldn't figure out why my measurement weren't adding up. Guess I won't be using the stock servo mount in the location I thought I was. CMS time for this one...

Long tube shortened 26mm, outer ends between the c-hub splines and link mounts have been shortened 9.5mm each. Shortened 45mm total, and matches an SCX10 housing at 135mm end-end. The link mounts come in at 90mm, center-center.
