Default Easy under hood access

I put my battery under the hood on my Wraith, and am looking for ideas to make changing the battery easier. Hood pins maybe? If so what kind should I look for?

This is traxxas part number #3727 they screw down in the front holes for the hood. They run about $3 bucks. Its what I used. Then you can just drill and use zip ties in the rear and BAAAAMMM!! You got a functional hood

Do those posts have the same thread as the existing holes in the cage where the original hood screws go? What I am getting at is, can I buy 4 of those posts and just pin the hood on? Bear with me, I'm slow sometimes!

Yes, that's how my hood stays on. Had to use 4 cause hinges would of interfered with my windshield.

I remembered this thread and he did an step by step on those 3727 pins and cool hinges. I'm doing this myself when I remember to go to the hardwear store for the wire clips.

Mod cost about $5 and is a must if you run a battery up front. So much easier!

This mod works great. I used it on my Wraith. The wire clips are cheap but you get a whole box of like 50. It's a must have for under hood batteries.

Never posted a pic of mine after I did this. I love it, works great, and a cheap mod to boot.

Here's mine. Very simple flip top mod. I forget who posted the original with the wire tie things but I tried 1/4" and that didn't work as the dash bar is too thick. So I went with 5/16" wire ties from Sears Hardware. Coupled with some nuts and bolts (be careful not to over tighten esp. if you have a chromed lexan hood like mine).

Can't remember if I went 8/32nd's or 10/32nd's on the machine screw and nut. But either way I had to cut one of the screws near the lipo in case of a bad roll over I didn't want it to contact the lipo.

Front end hood pins I just went to my LHS and picked up the Traxxas Rustler battery tie down kit.
