Default Wraith transmission using 32 pitch spur gear

I need some help with a upgrade that some of you have done to running wraiths. I'm looking for direction on using wraith transmission but use 32p spur gear. What I'm using is Novak 13.5 wraith edition timbuk2 system with rc4wd driveshafts punishers. Using a 3800mah 60c battery as well. I know of the bombproof setups but not to familiar with the 8mm shafts. Basically looking for the best of the best transmission. Already have HR harden steel gears in tranny. POST PICKS WILL HELP TOO!

So, you need to know which spur and pinion gear to use?

14/54 here. I havn't run it much but I did crawl on my rock pile with it and it was plenty smooth power delivery with the 13.5. Top end was a little faster than stock.

Great video update by the way! More to come? Was there a reason why you went with nylon spur gear rather then metal

This may not apply to your setup, but I think most people prefer to keep their spur gear as a cheap point of failure. Especially when running upgraded drivetrain components like driveshafts.

I've also read on here that the metal spur is very noisy. Makes sense.

I run a 54t Kimbrough spur and a 13t RRP pinion.

Here is a link to my build.

Because they are cheaper and will hold up perfectly. I recently sheared off the bolts that hold the outputs to the main gear in my tranny......the 32p spur gear was fine.

I used nylon cuz only $5 and rest of ger metal. So if a gear gives its the spur. Easiest to change.

Quick q guys
About to order my Wraith on Tues
Following items already ordered

80 amp Sensored esc $40
Xcelorin 21.5 T can $55
Program card n extras $15
4000 mah 3S 40c lipo $27

What I need now are the pinion and spur in 32P
I believe Traxxas spur will work?
Then I just need any 32P pinion @ 3.17 mm shaft size yes?
Now I cant find KV specs on 21.5 can, what would be a good spur/pinion combo to keep same stock speed as RTR?
I wont be doing mental crawling, but I will be doing pretty much trail with hill climbs

Any assistance greatly appreciated

That half of the slipper has a raised center that fits snuggly into the spur for centering. If that's what you're asking.

How are y'all running the Traxxas spurs? The center of the Traxxas gear is too large to properly sit on the Axial slipper plate. Also the bolt circle of the Traxxas gear is just slightly smaller than the bolt circle on the slipper plate of the wraith.

Are you guys drilling out the Traxxas gear to match the bolt circle or are you not even paying attention and letting the slipper plate get crossthreaded? What are you using to keep the spur gear centered on the plate?

The Kimbrough gear that I am using fits the raised portion of the slipper plate and the bolt circle is the same, so it fits perfectly.

I haven't tried the Duratrax spur, so I can't comment on it.
