Default What aftermarket spur gears fit?

Which aftermarket spur gears fit the wraith that I can find in my LHS. They don't stock much Axial stuff and I need to get some spurs. What other brands will work?

In my research to find a 96t spur for my Wraith, I concluded that Kimbrough spurs fit.

I can let you know if it fits right in a few days...

87t 48p fits but i think if you go any bigger you have to modify the housing or dont use it

I have a hunch(A feeling? A hope??) that the 96t 48p will fit. I'm banking on the fact that if they say it is an option in the instructon manual, that it will fit.

The white Traxxas gears work with a small mod. The three mounting holes need to just be slightly enlarged with a drill bit, and they are hub-centric to the Axial mount, so they center perfect.

87 is the biggest that will fit as far as I know. There is not that much clearance between the driveshaft and spur

Then I am curious to know why they list it in the gearing table in the instructions

seen one with a 90t had a slight mod to the case for it to fit. why they show it in the book who knows prolly just for a broader range more examples of gear ratio. my 87t is snug but fits fine.

The 80/20 gearing is already very high, gearing up even further is not recommended.

Hmmm, my 12t titan, now on 23/80 doesn't get warm, has good take off and not bad speed. I reckon it could quite happily pull higher gearing. Even after a thrash its still got no real temperature to it.

Right. It's official, the 96t 48p spur does NOT fit. I can post a pic if you like but yeah, it hits the driveshaft as expected. It's realllly close though. If the driveshaft was about 5mm further out from the gearbox, it would be fine.

I put my standard 80t back on. Interestingly, there is not enough adjustment to use my 12t pinion with that 80t spur, it does not make contact.

So my first lesson of RCC, don't believe everything you read in the instructions

Is 87t the biggest I can go? I don't care about getting the dust cover back on so I was wondering if the 93 would work. Yeah i'm a glutton for punishment

So my journey of learning through trial & error begins!
