| Mounting Mamba Max Pro ESC in Rear
Picked up a MMP ESC and a new brushless motor. While I have this all apart I was to move the battery up front and the MMP in the back where the battery was. I'm going to be removing and mod'ing my existing battery tray for use up front. For those that have the MMP mounted in the rear how are you doing it? There's nothing on the ESC to attach to and I was hoping to not take the red neck approach and just zip tie it. If anyone has come up with some nice solutions I would love to see pictures. Thank you in advance... |

Im probably going to be of no help to you, BUT heres a picture of a 3s 4400 and a MMP in the nose.. 3s 5000 mah fit's aswell. Just another option for you. The CKRC Battery plate is underneath all of that, You can easily make something to do the same job. Gets some nice airflow up there aswell. |

Did you just use double sticky tape to hold the ESC to the plate?

| I used the mount that the stock esc uses to hold it up there |

That esc is so small compared to your rx8 you could totally fit it in the front. If I had a stock chassis I would run this box in the front and put the esc in the front position. Wraith Electronics box |

Mounted my MMP in the front, too, using a piece of .030 lexan as a base.

The ESC placed in a project box, with two sided tape to hold in place, then as posted before a piece of lexan to use as a base and mount the project box to the lexan. On another project the project box was cut to allow room for the fan and then silicon around the cut-out and the edges of the project box.

I have a MMP and ROC 412 setup as well. I too used a project box from Radio Shack. Chopped up the lid a little bit so the fan sticks out, carved some parts out for the wires to go through. I secured my project box with screws, from under the tube frame where the battery box was up into the project box. Works great so far. Also provides more space to plaster more stickers. The project box shares space with a winch controller, receiver, and light controller. I run a BEC up front in the old receiver box for the steering servo. All my wires are ran through a single piece of cable wrap. a few pics: |

I have done it two ways in the back. 1- double sided tape to the stock battery tray, you could zip tie it but mine has never budged. I tucked it up tight behind the interior so somewhat protected and out of the way. Especially if you wan to do the fast back mod, which it did. 2 - double sided tape mounted to the aluminum inner panel that comes with the Radio shack project boxes. Holes line right up with holes on wraith frame. |

I actually used a project box in the rear for the rx and light controller. Used a hole cutter to drink a hole for the wires and then ran wires along the frame into the box. Used the supplied metal mounting plate to secure it but had to get creative to make it work. Used a set of duck bills I had from working in the hvac field some years ago to add a couple bends. Worked out well. Still though...mmp, bec, and battery up front. Need a new mountain solution for the mmp though. Only one screw holding the lexan plate in place. Works so far.

How about this? Would heat be a problem for the receiver? This is a HH BRXL with Spektrum receiver. Guess this might not work for the MMP... Last edited by rydaddy; 02-13-2014 at 07:23 PM. |

So how did you end up installing it?
